Warren Village III is a small campus of permanent supportive housing in the Athmar Park neighborhood of southwest Denver. The site sits between a major corridor to the north and a long-established single-family neighborhood to the south. From the beginning, we saw this as an opportunity to bridge those two conditions and design a campus that feels grounded in its surroundings rather than imposed on them.

The project provides homes for 89 single-parent families and brings together supportive services, an early learning center, and a kids’ club in one place. The buildings step down in scale from the busy street edge toward the residential fabric, creating a softer transition and a more welcoming presence for the families who will live there.

Every part of the site was shaped by Trauma Informed Design principles. The outdoor spaces, especially the playground, were designed to encourage exploration and learning, using natural materials whenever possible to support curiosity, play, and a sense of calm and belonging for the youngest residents. From large moves to the smaller details were all carefully considered for resident, and staff comfort and safety while still feeling like a home.
